AWL is looking for an industrial edge platform to support their machine PLC’s with IT tasks
and to close the gap between the OT an IT domain. Many use-cases are identified to
create added value for customers. But which platform fits best with AWL?

Assignment:

• What makes the assignment interesting
  for students?
  A very multidisciplinary assignment
  within the OT and IT domain of
  manufacturing processes.Secondly, this touches commercial
  thinking in a way to market the industrial
  edge platform when successful. Think of
  an application marketplace for example.
• Goal of the assignment
  Find an industrial edge platform which
  fits the needs of AWL to provide added
  value to customers.
• Tasks and responsibilities
  Research which suppliers offer which
  industrial edge solutions including their
  differences, pros and cons.
  Based on this research, advice AWL
  which solutions fits best to their needs.
  Create a first minimal viable product
  (MVP) for AWL to prove a success
  internally.

Level of the assignment:

• Education level: B.S degree (or higher) in
  Electrical Engineering / Information
  Science
• Innovative with excellent problem solving
  capabilities
• Complete technical tasks related to control
  and automation systems
• Interest in IT network structures
• Design and implement PLC/applications
  programs
• To perform this job successfully you must
  be competent in English verbal and written
  communication skills
